Soft Goods/Toy Designer - FREELANCE

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Developing new products and packaging from concept sketches through to production specs, with a focus on soft toys and personal accessories. Reviews samples and send feedback to factories throughout the development process. Also manages smaller design projects, including initial research and costing through to final pricing.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Assisting Senior Designers and Design Director

·         Sketching new product concepts

·         Specifying new products that follow the Brief

·         Communicating with factories and/or modelmakers to develop product samples

·         Developing packaging dielines and specifying packaging plans

·         Creating concept sheets for use by sales

·         Working with Production team to hand off all product specs

·         Mocking up products and packaging as needed

 

REQUIREMENTS:

4-year degree, preferably in Industrial Design or Graphic Design

3+ years experience in a related field

Excellence in Adobe CS: Photoshop, Illustrator

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Sewing experience a big plus

The ideal candidate will be analytical, self-motivated, well organized and detail oriented.   
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Research, track, and resolve accounting problems.
  • Create, monitor, and post all wire transactions.
  • Communicate with international manufacturers on status of payments, and wire details
  • Reconciling vendor accounts by verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting records
  • Updating routine reports as well as handling month end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Journal entries
  • Reconciles bank and credit card statements
  • Participates in annual audits by providing requested information as needed
  • Ad hoc projects and assistance on bottom line GL workflow/close as required
  • Maintains accounting records by making copies; filing documents.
 
Requirements:
 
  • Experience of 2 to 5 years in consumer products company preferred 
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • BS in Accounting or Finance preferred

Senior Marketing Manager – New York

Skip Hop is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Senior Marketing Manager reporting to the Vice President, Marketing. This position will work closely with VP Marketing, Sales, Merchandising and Creative teams, as well as external partners/agencies to create and implement multi-channel/360 marketing strategies across multiple, staggered new product launches, as well as lead trade marketing initiatives for key growth channels – both locally and internationally.  Candidates should be entrepreneurial, extremely detail-oriented, have a tenacious work ethic and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The Senior Marketing Manager will plan and execute multi-channel/360 marketing initiatives and support key trade marketing initiatives to ensure global brand growth in sales, new consumer acquisition and market share, specifically:
 
Oversee and manage trade marketing team and delivery of marketing toolkits and sales/retailer launch presentations in timely manner.  
Drive execution of key brand-building platforms and marketing programs including: retail/in-store programs, digital strategy (SEO/SEM), e-commerce, email programs and social media/PR programs.
Participate in new product ‘big ideas’ and priorities with VP and Director Creative Services, in partnership with Merchandising and Product Development.
Liaise with PR/partner agencies to strategize and secure optimal product placements and editorials.
Manage company marketing calendar, including driving development and delivery of seasonal marketing initiatives.
Drive analysis-, action- and results-oriented culture that enables fast decision making, collaboration, and flexibility for both short-term challenges and future planning.
Focus on development and mentoring to raise marketing skillset of overall team.
Strong external/competitive orientation of market and trends.
Manage budgets and monitor spending on a monthly basis
 
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from 4-year accredited college or university
7-9 years of experience in Marketing, including Consumer Packaged Goods and Childrens/Baby industry.
High energy, team player with strong management skills
Strong verbal, presentation and written skills with ability to influence and persuade at all levels
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently
Strong analytical abilities 
Digital, PR and Social Media Savvy
